SHAH ALAM, Oct 25 — The Selangor Speaker hopes to see that the state representatives would have sufficient time to debate the Belanjawan Selangor 2021 (2021 Selangor Budget), which will be tabled on Friday.

Ng Suee Lim said debating the budget is important to ensure that the wellbeing of the people is secured despite a surge in Covid-19 cases.

“I would like to see that the state assemblymen would have enough time to debate the budget, which includes addressing people’s welfare, development and economy as best as possible.

“We would like to see the state assembly run smoothly and democratically,” he said when met by the press after undergoing the Covid-19 screening at the Selangor State Secretariat building, here today.

Meanwhile, Deputy Speaker Hasnul Baharuddin said the people will be paying attention to the upcoming budget as Selangor is the most advanced state in the country.

“My hope is to see that the 2021 budget would be able to address the existing issues such as the economy that has been affected by Covid-19.

“Not to mention the water issues, and I am confident that the Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari is working hard to ensure that the issue would be resolved the best possible,” he said.

The Selangor Legislative Assembly is scheduled to convene on October 30.
