Petaling records highest Covid-19 cases, targeted screening continues

SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 — The targeted Covid-19 screening among locals in the Petaling district continues following the surge in positive cases in the area.

District officer Johary Anuar said the operation was conducted yesterday at the Pelangi Damansara Flat along Persiaran Surian by personnel of the District Health Office.

“The Utama cluster records the highest number of active Covid-19 infections while up till yesterday, the Sungai Buloh sub-district (mukim) has recorded the most cases for patients still under treatment, followed by the Petaling sub-district,” Johary told SelangorKini.

He said the residents are urged to keep adhering to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) and follow the standard operating procedures (SOPs) by staying at home if there is no urgency to go outside in order to break the Covid-19 chain of infection.

According to the Selangor State Health Department, the Petaling district recorded 340 active cases as of yesterday.

From that total, 174 cases were recorded in Sungai Buloh followed by Petaling (90), Damansara (64) and Bukit Raja (12).
