SHAH ALAM, Nov 30 — The residents in Meru, Klang, will undergo a Covid-19 community screening this coming Wednesday, says the Selangor Menteri Besar.
Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the mass testing exercise will be held from 9am to 2pm at the community hall in Taman Meru 3, focusing on those in Taman Meru 3, Taman Seri Meru, Taman Bayu and Taman Desa Permai.
“The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) had met following the spike in infections in the state, especially at the Top Glove Corp Bhd’s workers dormitories, which have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO).
“The task force had agreed on several recommendations to curb the spread of the outbreak, which would ease the people’s worries on the matter,” he said in a statement today.
Amirudin said the mass screening operation will be carried out by the state-owned subsidiary, Selcare, the Klang District Health Office, and NGO Imam Response & Relief Team (Imaret).
He said for the first time ever, the SELangkah (Step In, Safely) contact-tracing system will be used to register and upload the results from the screening.
The public has been told to pre-register for the testing initiative via website https://screening.selangkah.my to ease the registration process.
