Selangor records half of Malaysia’s Covid-19 daily cases with 603 infections

SHAH ALAM, Nov 22 — Selangor has topped the list again as the state recorded 603 infections, 55 per cent, out of the total 1,104 daily Covid-19 cases reported nationwide today.

Sabah recorded the second highest number of new cases at 311, followed by Perak with 55 infections.

“The high number of cases in Selangor is from work-related clusters especially the Teratai Cluster, which recorded 502 cases,” said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a statement today.

He said the cases recorded in Selangor include one imported infection.

“Out of the 602 (local) cases reported in Selangor today, 536 were from existing clusters, 27 cases from close-contact screenings and 39 others identified from other Covid-19 screenings,” he said.

According to the data by the Selangor Health Department’s Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC), Klang district recorded the highest figure with 528 cases, followed by Hulu Langat (36), Petaling (15), Gombak (12), Kuala Langat (6), Sepang (4) and Kuala Selangor (1),

Hulu Selangor district reported no cases, while Sabak Bernam remains a green zone with no active cases.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the state stands at 9,752 out of the accumulated 54,775 infections in Malaysia.
