SHAH ALAM, Jan 22 — Some 2,000 targeted individuals in Selangor stand a chance to benefit from a Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) screening offer priced at RM50.

Kota Anggerik state assemblyman Mohd Najwan Halimi said the screening operation, which started two days ago and held in collaboration with Selgate Corporation Sdn Bhd, will be carried out throughout the movement control order (MCO).

He said the initiative was taken due to the concerns following the daily increase in Covid-19 cases in Selangor.

“The price of the RTK-Ag at (private) clinics can reach up to RM140, which can be high for some. Therefore, we will bear part of the cost through this programme.

“We hope that the facility would bring some relief to the residents and enable them to find out about their health status, whether they are infected or not,” said Najwan when met by the press after visiting the screening programme with Shah Alam MP Khalid Abdul Samad at the Selcare Clinic in Section 13 here today.

Meanwhile, Najwan said the screening operation, which has entered its third day, had received more than 200 participants involving local constituents including some from outside the area who have urgent requirements.

“Despite not being Kota Anggerik voters, we also consider applications from outside the constituency because the most important thing is that the action taken will have an impact on everyone.

“Therefore, I urge any individuals with symptoms to come forward and undergo the screening,” he said.

Appointments for the testing is scheduled at 11am, 12pm or 2pm.
