Selangor records close to 13,000 Covid-19 cases in two weeks

SHAH ALAM, Jan 19 — Selangor has recorded 12,866 Covid-19 cases between January 5 and 18, says the Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC).

The agency said the numbers according to districts show that Klang continues to record the highest number of cases throughout the 14 days with an accumulated total of 4,849 cases.

Other districts which also registered a cumulative four-digit cases are Hulu Langat with 2,363, Petaling (2,267), Sepang (1,109) and Gombak (1,038).

Meanwhile, Kuala Langat reported 683 cases, Kuala Selangor (379), Hulu Selangor (130) and Sabak Bernam (48).

Yesterday, Selangor saw a total 1,213 new Covid-19 cases with 552 cases involving cluster transmission, 360 from close-contact screening, 300 from other screenings with one imported case.

The highest daily new cases recorded in the state was on November 24 last year at 1,623.
