Repair works for burst pipes in Taman Sungai Sering, Cheras completed

SHAH ALAM, Jan 9 — Repair works to the burst pipes at Jalan Sering, Taman Sungai Sering in Cheras, that was damaged by a third party, were completed at 11pm yesterday, said Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) today.

“The water supply to consumers had resumed starting at 2am this morning,” said the water operator in a statement issued at 8.30am today.

As at 7am today, the water supply restoration rate to 121 areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat and Kuala Lumpur is at 57 per cent.

“The water supply restoration rate for Hulu Langat is at 90 per cent, followed by Petaling (70 per cent) and Kuala Lumpur (10 per cent),” said the agency.

Air Selangor is working hard to stabilise the distribution system to ensure consumers receive their water supply soon especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The restoration to all affected areas are done in stages and would vary according to areas and distances of the users’ premises,” it said.

Air Selangor said water supply to the areas is expected to fully resume at 6pm today.

It said water supply assistance through water tankers is currently being mobilised to the affected areas.
