Licence holders from local councils eligible for NaDI initiative

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, Feb 10 — Businesses in Selangor that have registered with their respective local councils are qualified to apply for the Niaga Darul Ehsan (NaDI) initiative in  efforts to revive the economy during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the scheme is not confined to any specific type of business.

However, the applicants must have a valid business permit, residing in Selangor, and aged 18 to 60.

“The programme is a state government initiative to help the people. Those who wish to apply can log on to http://www.hijrahselangor.com or visit the nearest Hijrah (Yayasan Hijrah Selangor) branch,” said Amirudin during the launch of the NaDI and Go Digital initiatives on Facebook today.

He said the programme aims to help business startups by offering a loan as low as RM1,000 to RM5,000.

Through the Belanjawan Selangor 2021 (2021 Selangor Budget) last year, Amirudin had announced a preliminary allocation of RM10 million for the NaDI scheme to help businesses take up a loan with a minimum of RM1,000.

The state government targets 3,000 recipients to benefit from the initiative to enable them to sustain their businesses using temporary traders’ licences from the local authorities across the state.
