MB shares Chinese New Year joy, distance not an obstacle

SHAH ALAM, Feb 13 — Covid-19 pandemic is not an obstacle for Tiong Hua community to celebrate Chinese New Year with joy, said Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

In a special Chinese New Year video, he said the pandemic should also not dishearten the people to continue seeing Selangor become a prosperous, peaceful and happy state.

“The distance and boundaries between districts nor states are not an obstacle for us to celebrate the Chinese New Year with enthusiasm and joy. Let us share the wealth and happiness during this celebration which differs in so many ways from last year.

“Whether you are celebrating the Chinese New Year in Gombak, Klang or anywhere in Selangor, we the state government wish Gong Xi Fa Cai and may this year bring great rewards for our good efforts over the years,” he wrote on Facebook.

In the video lasting more than two-minutes, Amirudin together with the state executive councillor for new village development Ng Sze Han gave a Happy Chinese New Year wish.

Also included in it were special festive messages from seven New Village’s Village Community Management Council (MPKK) coordinating officers and 77 New Village’s MPKK chairman and Selangor Villages liaison officers.
