KUALA LUMPUR, March 29 — The number of new Covid-19 cases in Malaysia has dipped below 1,000 again, with 941 cases reported over the last 24 hours, the lowest figure this year, said Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
The last time the daily figure dropped below four digits was on December 9 last year when 959 cases were recorded.
In a statement today, he said 1,097 recoveries and five deaths were reported over the same period.
“Selangor recorded the highest number of new cases with 219, followed by Sarawak at 192 and Johor, 171.
“A total of 166 cases are still being treated in the intensive care unit, with 73 requiring ventilator support,” he added.
The latest developments meant that there are now 14,219 active cases, said Dr Noor Hisham.
He said two new workplace clusters – Section 16 in Selangor and Jalan Azlan in Kuala Lumpur – and one community cluster, Taman Vistagro in Sarawak, were detected today.
