Free community screening in Subang Perdana today

SHAH ALAM, March 6 — The Covid-19 community screening programme organised by the state government takes place today at the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) Resak Hall, in Subang Perdana here.

The free targeted screening focuses on residents near Taman Subang Perdana, Taman Nusa Subang, Taman Pinggiran Subang and Taman Subang Idaman.

A total of 35 Selcare Clinic health workers fully clothed in personal protective suits began the screening process that starts from 9am to 4pm.

Rapid antigen test kit (RTK-Ag) are used to detect Covid-19 infection in less than 30 minutes, those who came have to first register through the SELangkah (Step in, safely) mobile application and get their body temperature checked.

The screening location is monitored by MBSA enforcement personnel, police and the Malaysian Civil Defense Force (APM).

Apart from the MBSA Resak Hall, today’s screening programme is also conducted simultaneously at the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) Multipurpose Hall, in Seri Kembangan.

The free screening focuses on residents near Taman Bukit Serdang (Section 8), Taman Serdang Jaya and Seri Kembangan.

Previously, the screening was also held at the MBSJ Hall, in Taman Puchong Indah and at Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) Multipurpose Hall in Taman Dato’ Harun, Petaling Jaya.

The same programme was also held at Pendamar Indah 2 Multipurpose Hall, in Port Klang and Kenanga Hall, in Section 28, Shah Alam.

In addition, it was also held at the Section 19 and Section 7 Hall in Shah Alam; Pandamaran Jaya Multipurpose Hall, in Klang; the PJS 6 Community Hall, in Petaling Jaya; and Sungai Besar Stadium, in Sabak Bernam.

Through the Kita Selangor Package, the state government announced an allocation of RM6 million to carry out the free targeted screening test to curb the spread of the pandemic.

The programme is expected to benefit 50,000 people with a focus on target groups such as the elderly, especially in the old folks’ care and hemodialysis centres throughout the state, including low-income groups (B40) and Selangor students.
