Special courses offered to Selangor Kerjaya participants

SHAH ALAM, March 9 — Participants of the Selangor Kerjaya programme, who have been employed via the initiative, are offered the opportunity to undergo a special one-year course.

Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) chief executive officer Norita Mohd Sidek said the virtual course would be selected by employers for the upskilling of the candidates and a certificate will be issued to the participants upon the completion of the training.

“For the record, a total of 38 out of 80 individuals who made it through both the online and face-to-face interview sessions have managed to enter various job sectors,” Norita told SelangorKini.

She said compared to other job searching platforms, Selangor Kerjaya has a unique feature that requires applicants to take a profile test that provides an overview of their interest, skills and job suitability.

“The candidates’ reports will be shared with them as reference and basic training will be conducted to prepare the selected workforce for interviews.

“We hope to see more Selangor people take up the opportunity to register themselves and build their career through this programme,” she said.

On January 26, the Selangor government had launched the www.selangorkerjaya.com.my portal to address unemployment issues, short-term and long-term.

The effort is also aimed at individuals who lost their jobs following the Covid-19 pandemic.
