All mosques in Selangor to receive financial aid, says MB

By Khairul Azran Hussin

KLANG, April 21 — The Selangor administration will disburse between RM5,000 to RM10,000 to all mosques in the state soon, says the Menteri Besar.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the financial aid is to help the mosques that are facing a drop in funds due to the limited number of congregation visiting the mosques, following the Covid-19 outbreak.

“Many mosques in Selangor are facing a decrease in funds that are used to carry out activities and to repair basic facilities.

“Therefore, the state government took the initiative to help out the mosques especially during the month of Ramadan,” said Amirudin when met after presenting the funds to the mosques in the Klang district at the Al-Ansar Mosque, Kapar, in conjunction with the Jelajah Ramadan Kita Selangor programme, yesterday.

During the event, all 42 mosques in Klang had received a RM10,000 of funds each, which is channelled via the Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI).

Earlier, Amirudin and his wife, Datin Seri Masdiana Muhamad, had visited the Pekan Kapar Ramadan bazaar.

He then attended the presentation of the letter of endorsement (watikah) to the village heads ceremony and breaking fast event at the Asy-Syaruf Mosque in Pekan Meru.
