Covid-19 community screening to be held at night during Ramadan

PUNCAK ALAM, April 11 — The free Covid-19 community screening in Selangor will be carried out at night time during Ramadan month.

Selangor Covid-19 Special Task Force Operation Community Affairs administrative officer Dr Nurul Solihin Nurul Hasnan said the Covid-19 Antigen Rapid Test Kit (RTK-Ag) will be used during the screening programme and the focus will be on students of higher learning institutions.

“For now, we will be having the screening operation at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) in Shah  Alam, Puncak Alam, and Sungai Buloh.

“We are targeting about 500 to 1,000 individuals to be screening on both weekdays and weekends, depending on the campus management,” he said when met during the Covid-19 community testing operation held at the MDKS Sinar Alam Hall, Phase 2, here yesterday.

Participants can sign-up for the programme using the SELangkah phone app or via the website at screening.selangkah.my.

The Selangor administration has aimed to see 50,000 individuals screened throughout the year via the initiative, which involves a total cost of RM6 million.

As of March 22, the number of individuals tested during the free Covid-19 community screening totalled 7,401 persons, at a cost of RM688,293
