Kossan finalises RM54 mln recruitment fees remediation to migrant workers

KUALA LUMPUR, June 10 — Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd has finalised the remediation of recruitment fees to migrant workers totalling RM54 million.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the glove maker said based on its remediation payment programme, which was earlier targeted to be completed in March 2022, it has paid a total remediation fee of RM29 million to the migrant workers as of today.

The company said it has also decided to accelerate the payment of the balance remediation fees in a lump sum payment amounting to RM25 million by the end of this month.

“Kossan remains committed to upholding responsible recruitment practices in line with our zero-cost recruitment policy,” it added.
