SHAH ALAM, June 22 — The Selangor Digital e-Supply Chain (Seldec) will add four new categories into the existing list of products offered on its e-commerce platform by August, said its Business Development general manager Mohd Fauzan Elham.

He said the new categories include fashion, health and beauty, home appliances, as well as services, which will provide more business opportunities to entrepreneurs.

“Currently, we only offer three categories, which are wet food, frozen food, as well as dry food such as sugar and rice.

“This August, we will add several new categories as a result of our cooperation with other parties.

“This will make it easier for buyers to shop through the e-commerce portal involved,” he said during the Media Selangor’s Bual Bicara virtual talk show titled ‘Seldec: A Platform to Help Selangor Businesses’ today.

The programme was broadcast live via Media Selangor’s Facebook page and SelangorTV’s YouTube channel.

Mohd Fauzan added that Seldec’s service will also expand nationwide through collaboration with logistics companies and local government agencies, to form a delivery hub.

“To make this plan a success, Seldec will start operations from rural areas and has chosen Kuala Selangor for its first project.

“So far, Seldec’s operation only covers 38 areas around Selangor and Kuala Lumpur. The movement of the delivery riders are also limited to within 40 km radius,” he said.

Seldec was launched on October 3, 2019, to help increase the revenues of small and rural entrepreneurs within the state.
