Angler feared drowned after falling off boat at Banting

SHAH ALAM, July 24 — A man is feared drowned after falling off his boat while heading to Batu Laut, Banting, about 50 kilometres from here, to fish yesterday evening.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) assistant director (Operations), Hafisham Mohd Noor said JBPM received a call at 7.53pm on the incident and arrived at the scene at 9pm.

“Seven rescuers from the Banting Fire and Rescue Station went to the location and conducted a search along the beach. They also set up a JBPM command and control post (for the search and rescue operation),” he said in a statement today.

Hafisham said any latest information on the 27-year-old victim would be updated from time to time.
