GOMBAK, July 21 — Residents in four areas which have been placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) will be vaccinated next week, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the vaccination under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) will start soon after the screening process is completed this week.

“EMCO implementation in the areas is going on smoothly and screening is being carried out. Some of the residents have been screened before the EMCO was enforced. We expect the screening process to be completed in three more days.

“Therefore, we can start to vaccinate those who have been tested negative by next week,” he said after visiting the Dewan Sri Siantan vaccination centre (PPV) here, today.

On July 16, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that four areas in Selangor will come under the EMCO from July 18 to July 31.

The areas are Flat Taman Samudera in Batu, Damai Apartment, PJS 8 in Damansara, Jalan Pandan Indah in Ampang and Bandar Bukit Tinggi in Klang.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said he will visit all of the EMCO areas to monitor the vaccination process on the residents involved in the programme.

“Recently, I have visited Flat Taman Samudera in Batu and maybe in the next few days, I will visit other EMCO areas especially when the vaccination process takes place,” he said.

Recently, residents in three EMCO areas in the state namely Pangsapuri Mentari Court in Petaling Jaya, Taman Murni in Sepang and Pangsapuri Sri Ayu in Bandar Baru Bangi were vaccinated.
