DBP, KTMB organise competitions in conjunction with National Languange Decade 2021

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 15 —  Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) together with Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) are organising various competitions in conjunction with the National Language Decade 2021 starting last Wednesday (August 11) until September 15.

In a statement today, DBP said the programme was an ongoing effort to revitalise the society’s love and pride for the national language, as well as to strengthen unity.

It said the competitions were divided into five categories, namely children and teen essay writing in Bahasa Melayu with the theme ‘Kenangan Menaiki Kereta Api KTMB’, designing posters and infographics on KTM Komuter and Electric Train Service (ETS), and producing a short video with the theme ‘Aku dan Keretapi’.

The essay writing competition is open for children between 10 and 12 years old and teens between 13 and 17 years old, while the other categories are open for those aged 18 and above.

DBP added that the essay writing competition offers cash prizes from RM100 to RM500 (children category) and RM300 to RM1,000 (teens category); poster and infographics design (RM400 to RM1,000) and short video (RM1,000 to RM3,000).
