SHAH ALAM, Aug 20 — The GM Klang Wholesale City will resume its operations in one to two weeks’ time.
GM Klang Corporate Communications and Public Relations manager Norsuhaida Othman said although the government has allowed the reopening of 11 non-essential sectors in states under Phase One of the National Recovery Plan, it did not want to rush to start operations.
The management wanted to give wholesalers ample time to make preparations in accordance with the standard operating procedures set to ensure the safety of all parties, she said in a statement yesterday.
Norsuhaida said GM Klang would from time to time step up efforts to increase the vaccination rate among its employees, especially frontline workers such as security guards, cleaning workers and wholesalers.
As a centre that offers a wide range of products at attractive wholesale prices under one roof, she said the opening of more shops at GM Klang would definitely help small traders to get their supplies from wholesalers.
“In fact, the public can also save more by getting their necessities at wholesale prices,” she said.
Norsuhaida hoped that the relaxation given would help traders at GM Klang who have been affected since the past few months to regain their business momentum.
