KUALA SELANGOR, Sept 11 — A total of 84,192 units of Rumah Selangorku Harapan and Rumah Idaman Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, have been approved by the state government until August 31.
State executive councillor for housing Rodziah Ismail said the approvals involving 49 projects surpassed the target to build 60,000 housing units within three years by 2023.
“The state government’s efforts will help people to own homes, and we hope after approval, the developer will deal with the local authorities (PBT) to get approval and implement the project immediately,” she said.
She said this after attending a ceremony to hand over keys to Rumah Selangorku Taman Alam Suria, in Kuala Selangor yesterday.
Earlier, Rodziah had spent time inspecting the completed and ready to be occupied housing project before handing over the keys to its new owners, she was accompanied by IJM Land senior general manager Datuk Hoo Kim See.
In May 2, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the construction of 80,650 units of Rumah Selangorku Idaman dan Harapan through 41 projects are scheduled to be completed within four years.
Of that number, more than 77,000 were offered to the public while the rest was given to the state government for the implementation of the Rent-to-Own Smart Scheme (2Stay).
