Water supply in Hulu Langat restored by 60 pct, two areas still underway

SHAH ALAM, Sept 29 — Water supply has been restored to 60 per cent of the five affected areas in Hulu Langat after maintenance works at Taman Sri Indah Balakong, Cheras Inlet, and in front of The Mines, as of 12 noon today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the water supply in three areas at Bandar Sg Long (SL6, SL9, SL10 and SL11), Taman Bukit Palma and Bandar Mahkota Cheras (Jalan Putera, Jalan Puteri, Jalan Bendahara and Jalan Mahkota), has been fully restored.

It added that the water supply restoration in another two affected areas are still progressing, with Green Park Residence at 50 per cent and Balakong (19.7 per cent).

“The recovery period differs from one area to another, depending on the location and distance of consumers’ premises.

“We hope the consumers will use water prudently to allow the recovery process in the other affected areas to run as smoothly as scheduled,” said Air Selangor in a statement on Facebook.

Earlier Air Selangor announced that the scheduled valve replacement maintenance works at Taman Sri Indah Balakong, Cheras Inlet, and in front of The Mines, have been completed at 6am today.

Yesterday its Corporate Communications head Elina Baseri said several areas in the Hulu Langat region will experience scheduled water supply disruption from 9pm last night to facilitate the maintenance works.
