AirAsia to resume flights to Phuket from just RM189

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 — AirAsia Malaysia will resume four weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Phuket starting November 5, 2021, following the reopening of the Phuket Sandbox to fully vaccinated tourists.

In a statement today, AirAsia said guests can book their flights to Phuket beginning today until October 31 from just RM189 one way via the ‘Flights’ icon on AirAsia Super App, for travel between November 5, 2021, and March 30, 2022.

Travellers must meet the Thai government’s requirements by getting the Certificate of Entry by applying to Thailand’s Certificate of Entry Registration System before purchasing their tickets.

Through the ‘SNAP’ icon on the Super App, guests may secure value flights and hotel deals, starting at just RM549 for travel within the same period.

AirAsia Malaysia chief executive officer Riad Asmat said following the tremendous success of Malaysia’s Langkawi travel bubble, the reopening of the Phuket Sandbox programme signified the much-awaited opening of international leisure travel to Thailand.

“We have extensively prepared for the resumption of flights from an operational aspect to ensure that all our guests can travel safely, seamlessly, and with peace of mind.

“We have sold over one million domestic seats recently, and have also registered high load factors and strong forward bookings, signalling a strong rebound in leisure travel,” he said.
