Water supply restored by 50.6 pct as at 9am

SHAH ALAM, Oct 15 — Water supply in 998 areas that were disrupted following the upgrading and maintenance works for critical assets in Sungai Selangor Phase 1 Water Treatment Plant (SSP1 WTP), has been restored by 50.6 per cent, as at 9am today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said Shah Alam region recorded the highest recovery rate at 92.3 per cent, followed by Hulu Selangor (89.3 per cent), Kuala Selangor (75.6 per cent), Petaling (73.3 per cent), Gombak (59.9 per cent) and Klang (7.1 per cent).

Two regions, Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Langat were still at zero recovery rate.

“The duration of water supply disruption and restoration in the affected areas varied depending on the distance of the location of the consumer’s premises, as well as the water pressure,” said the statement posted on Facebook today.

Residents around the Klang Valley began to experience the scheduled water supply disruption at 9am on Wednesday due to the upgrading and maintenance works.

Air Selangor advised consumers whose water supply has been restored to use water prudently to ensure the restoration process in the affected areas runs smoothly.
