Pandemic preparedness: Selangor dedicates RM500,000 to fighting scourge

By Alang Bendahara

SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — The 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) has allocated RM500,000 towards the management of Covid-19 in the state, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the allocation will prepare the state for the possibility of other outbreaks, as well as fund awareness programmes and support Covid-19 victims.

“We have allocated RM500,000 to prepare for any possible outbreaks by adding and diversifying advocacy programmes related to the standard operating procedure compliance, as well as improving the support system for patients who are infected with Covid-19,” Amirudin said during the budget’s tabling at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly here, today.

He added that the state remains focused on combating the pandemic and ensuring that the economy and livelihood of the people are safeguarded.

“It is a known fact the state government has always been focused on the management of Covid-19 in Selangor, to ensure that economic and social activities can run as always.

“Yet, we need to accept the fact the virus will live together with us, and that the country has already entered the endemic phase,” he said.
