Selangor pumps RM9.25 mln into flood mitigation projects

By Nasuha Badrul Huzaini

SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — The state government has allocated some RM9.25 million to carry out flood mitigation projects, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said several river basins have been identified for the projects in an effort to overcome the problem of flooding for the people.

Amirudin said the river basins are the Sungai Langat basin, the Sungai Klang basin and the Sungai Selangor basin.

“The flood mitigation projects must be implemented as soon as possible, especially at the Sungai Langat basin.

“These projects will also be integrated with other projects that involve allocation from the Federal government to ensure a more holistic approach to tackling the flood issue in Selangor,” he told the Selangor State Legislative Assembly during the tabling of the 2022 Selangor Budget (#Selangor2022) here, today.

The flood mitigation projects fall under the fourth strategy of the #Selangor2022, which is to create a green environment and carry out sustainable development.

The Selangor government has allocated a total of RM190.3 million to be dispersed to the people under this strategy.
