Air Selangor: Water supply restored reaching half completion

SHAH ALAM, Dec 21 — The water supply recovery in areas affected by the unscheduled disruption has reached 47.8 per cent, as of 12pm today.

Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) said the operations for the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Semenyih 2, the Sg Langat WTP, and the Langat 2 WTP, have fully commenced.

“Water supply to areas affected under the Sg Langat WTP and Langat 2 WTP is expected to be fully restored at 11pm tomorrow (December 22). 

“As for Cheras Batu 11 WTP, the cleaning process and damage assessment are still being carried out. Its expected resumption of full operations is yet to be confirmed at this time,” it said on Facebook.

Air Selangor added that alternative assistance through water tankers will continue to be mobilised in stages to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises during the disruption period.

“We are seeking consumers’ cooperation in practising social distancing and wearing face masks while collecting their water supply from water tankers,” the statement read.
