Floods victims can apply for free house cleaning assistance via online

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, Dec 28 — Floods victims in need of volunteers’ help for house cleaning can apply for the free service via the www.teguhbersama.com website.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the platform also enables the public to make donations, which will ease the burden of affected floods victims.

“The initiative by Subang Jaya assemblyman Michelle Ng Mei Sze allows floods victims to request for help in managing their post-flood houses, or to collect waste caused by the flooding.

“Thank you to all of the private companies and volunteer teams who have come all the way from other states to help Selangor,” he said in a press conference yesterday.

On December 21, the state government launched the ‘Ikhtiar Selangor Bangkit’ Fund to help in the recovery process for affected areas.

To kickstart the programme, Amirudin has donated a month of his salary to the fund.

As of yesterday, Selangor has received a total of RM2.23 million in donations from individuals, companies, as well as from the Kedah and Kelantan state governments.

Any individuals or companies who would like to donate can make payments online to CIMB Bank account 8604-747-531 (Bendahari Negeri Selangor, Ref: Tabung Ikhtiar’).
