Booster shot programme should be intensified — STFO

By Norrasyidah Arshad

SHAH ALAM, Jan 13 — The Covid-19 booster programme for the public should be intensified similarly to how the efforts in administering the first and second doses were delivered.

Selangor Task Force Operation (STFO) director Dr Mohammad Farhan Rusli said the Federal and state governments should take proactive measures to ensure accessibility of the initiative.

“Do it like what we have done before for the first dose. Go to each area to offer the booster shots. Previously, many senior citizens were reluctant to go to the vaccination centres for their first dose due to transportation issues.

“Therefore, do not take a step backwards this time. Spend some money to ease the process for the people because if they fail to get the booster shot, it will impact the economy,” he said during the Bual Bicara talk show titled ‘Is the fourth booster needed?’ broadcast live on SelangorTV Youtube and Media Selangor Facebook last night.

Dr Mohammad Farhan added both the Federal and state administrations must work closely to ease the booster vaccination process.

“Involve the state government as they know better on the needs and wants of the local people in the state.

“The state government also has its manpower involving local councils, state representatives, state assemblymen and council members who could facilitate the process. This is a must,” he said.
