By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, Jan 17 — New learning videos on several additional subjects are among the improvements in the state’s free education portal  ePTRS.my this year, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

In an infographic shared on Twitter, Amirudin said the newly uploaded videos are for Additional Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Chemistry as well as Islamic Education and Moral Education subjects.

“The state government will continue to prioritise the education agenda of Selangor’s children through the Selangor People’s Tutoring Programme (PTRS).

“An estimated 60,000 students will receive the benefits including SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) and Year Six students. with an allocation of RM7 million,” he wrote on Twitter today.

Previously, the portal contained 81 learning videos covering core subjects, namely Malay and English languages, History, Science and Mathematics.

On January 11, the Selangor State Education Standing Committee informed that 60,000 Form Five and Year Six students across Selangor are targeted to receive benefits through PTRS this year.

The committee said that 50,000 SPM candidates and 10,000 Year Six students will attend the virtual and face-to-face classes apart from getting free learning modules.

The committee said that 10,000 SPM candidates from low-income families who need guidance from teachers will receive the benefits of the tuition classes along with learning modules, while 20,000 students in the same category but able to study on their own will receive learning modules.

According to the committee, 10,000 SPM candidates from low-income families who need guidance teachers receive the benefits of tuition classes and learning modules, while 20,000 students in the same category but able to study on their own receive learning modules.

Amirudin, when tabling the Selangor Budget 2022 on November 26 last year, announced an allocation of RM7 million to continue the PTRS this year.

He said it was to strengthen the content of the ePTRS.my portal and strengthen teachers’ skills.
