SHAH ALAM, Jan 13 — A woman who had lost her newly-bought Perodua Bezza in the floods in Sungai Lui Batu 19, Hulu Langat, received a pleasant surprise when told that she would get a replacement car for free.
Nuarjan Sulaiman,36, received a pre-owned Proton Saga from integrated car e-commerce platform Carsome, yesterday.
The mother of three said she was thrilled when Carsome contacted her to deliver the good news in replacing her totally-damaged Perodua Bezza.
“Initially, I did not believe there would be people who are willing to replace my car. But once I got the car, I felt very content as it would surely help us move around.
“Many thanks to Carsome and the Malaysian citizens who keep praying for our blessings. I kept this a secret from my children. It is also a surprise for them,” she said.
Nuarjan’s story went viral on the internet last month after her car, which she co-purchased with her husband three months before the ordeal using the Employees Provident Fund money, was destroyed in the floods.
The car was submerged in mud, approximately 100 metres from its original location and badly damaged, with the rear bonnet and side mirrors being torn off.
Before this, the woman rode her husband’s motorcycle or borrowed her relatives’ car whenever she needed to run errands.
