SHAH ALAM, Feb 3 — A total of 74,000 individuals have received their Covid-19 booster shots under the Selangor Vaccination Programme (Selvax) Booster since last December.

Selcare Clinic general manager Dr Jeevarajah Ratnarajah said the programme continues to receive a good response from the public with 1,950 doses were administered daily at its 17 clinic branches.

“We also welcome state representatives who would like to hold their own initiatives in providing vaccination centres at their respective state constituencies,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.

The Selvax Booster initiative was launched on December 8 with a total of 157,000 vaccine doses allocated for fully vaccinated individuals aged 18 and above.

The Selangor government had introduced the Selvax Comunity and Industry programmes on June 30, 2021, in its bid to speed up the vaccination process of the people in the state.

This was followed by the mobile version of the initiative, Selvax Mobile, which was held in September last year using buses and vans to ensure no one is left behind from the immunisation programme.

Last October, the Selvax programme featured the initiative to inoculate adolescents aged 12 to 17 with an allocation of 150,000 vaccine doses, which was in line with the Health Ministry’s approval to allow the teenagers to receive the Sinovac vaccine, conditionally.
