SHAH ALAM, Feb 23 — Nearly 3,000 job opportunities will be offered to Selangor residents, via the JobCare roadshow in the state’s nine districts starting February 26.

The roadshow is an initiative by the Selangor Workers’ Empowerment Unit (UPPS) along with the Social Security Organisation (Socso) which will run until June 25, with participation from 15 local companies from various sectors.

UPPS chief coordinator Vijayan Subramaniam said the programme is aimed at helping out the low, medium, and high-skilled categories who lost their sources of income due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“We welcome Selangor residents to use this golden opportunity, in addition to benefiting from the guidance and help of Socso,” he said during the press conference today.

Vijayan added that he hopes the roadshow will help to reduce the unemployment rate in the state.

“Our wish is to overcome the employees’ issue in Selangor, in line with the establishment of UPPS, thanks to empowerment and development state executive councillor V. Ganabatirau,” he said.
