MAF invites Malaysians to join as cadet officers

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 16 — The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) is inviting Malaysians with a Bachelor’s degree (honours) to serve as officers in the army, Royal Malaysian Navy and Royal Malaysian Air Force.

MAF, in a statement today, said applications can be made online through the Graduate Cadet Officers Recruitment 2022 at the link https://jmt.mod.gov.my/index.php, and the closing date is April 30.

“Among the conditions for an appointment is that candidates must not be more than 27 years old on December 31 this year,” said the statement.

In addition, candidates must pass health and dental inspections conducted by MAF medical officers and have good eyesight without the aid of glasses or contact lenses.

They must also have the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia or Sijil Vokasional Malaysia or equivalent qualifications with credits in Bahasa Malaysia, including passing the Oral Test, English Language and Mathematics.

“The candidates too must have a Bachelor’s degree with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.70, namely 65.5 per cent and above. Among the list of majors which meet service requirements are Computer Science, Public Relations and Law,” it said.

Selected candidates would be appointed as Graduate Cadet Officers to undergo cadet officers training at the Army Academy in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan; Kapal Diraja Sultan Idris 1 in Lumut, Perak and Officers Training School, Air Force Academy in Alor Setar, Kedah.

“Cadet Officers who passed (the training) will be awarded a short-term commission with the rank of Second Lieutenant,” said the statement.
