MB: RM64.5 mln in flood aid disbursed to 64,388 families

SHAH ALAM, Feb 13 — A total of 64,388 households affected by the floods in Selangor have received the RM1,000 Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB) assistance from the state government as of 10am today.

Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state administration has disbursed some RM64.518 million through the initiative.

Based on an infographic shared by the Menteri Besar on Facebook today, Klang had registered the highest number of recipients involving 17,336 families and a total expenditure of RM17.396 million.

This is followed by Petaling with a total of 16,917 recipients, Kuala Langat (9,079), Hulu Langat (7,843), Sepang (6,855), Kuala Selangor (5,430), Gombak (893), Hulu Selangor (94) and Sabak Bernam (40).

The initiative includes a RM10,000 aid for 13 families in Klang, Sepang, Hulu Langat, and Kuala Selangor who lost their loved ones.

On December 21 last year, the state government had announced the RM100 million in allocation under BSB to help flood-hit families following the heavy floods caused by continuous torrential rain from December 17 to December 19.

Distribution of the aid began on December 28, 2021.
