Ampang landslide: KDEBWM builds sand barrier, prevent water entering houses

SHAH ALAM, March 15 — KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM) resumed its relief operations today at the landslide area in Taman Bukit Permai 2, Ampang.

In a Facebook post, the agency said their team has built waterways and sand barriers to prevent water from flowing into residents’ houses.

“Our team has also removed the sand from clogged drains to ensure the smooth flow of water. Thank you to those involved,” it said.

KDEBWM added that 11 of its workers and two roll-on-roll-off (RoRo) lorries from the KDEBWM Ampang Jaya branch were involved in the operation.

Last Thursday, a major landslide occurred at Taman Bukit Permai 2 that killed four people while a fifth victim suffered minor injuries. Fifteen houses and 10 vehicles were also damaged in the incident.

Those who seek to lodge a report on domestic waste collection and public cleaning in Selangor may contact KDEBWM at 1-800-88-2824 or download the iClean Selangor app.
