SHAH ALAM, April 19 — The state government has guaranteed the supply of basic goods and raw materials in the state is sufficient for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.

State executive councillor for consumer affairs Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni advised the public to not make panic purchases or buy their necessities in excess.

InsyaAllah the supplies are sufficient until Aidilfitri and there have been no complains from users and traders thus far,” he said after his ground visit to the Ramadan bazaar at Stadium Shah Alam yesterday evening as part of Op Pantau.

The operation was carried out in conjunction with the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry (KPDNHEP) Selangor, where its director Muhamad Zikril Azan also took part.

Earlier the ministry assured the public the supply of raw materials especially rice, wheat flour, cooking oil and chicken eggs is enough for Ramadan and Aidilfitri in May.

KPDNHEP is also confident the supply of fresh chicken is sufficient after the festive period, following discussions with several of the nation’s biggest chicken suppliers.
