Hulu Langat, Sabak Bernam to see affordable necessities programme this weekend

SHAH ALAM, April 15 — The Ehsan Intervention Programme which offers daily necessities at low prices will be held in the districts of Sabak Bernam and Hulu Langat this week.

On Twitter, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme will run from 10am to 1pm tomorrow at Dataran Tonggak 9 in Sungai Besar and the front yard of the Sekinchan state constituency service centre.

On Sunday it will operate during the same hours in front of Kompleks Penghulu Mukim Hulu Langat in Pekan Batu 14 and the Taman Jenaris Residents’ Association activity site in Kajang.

“This week the Ehsan Intervention Programme will travel to Sekinchan, Sungai Besar, Pekan Batu and Kajang.

“Kitchen necessities will be brought and sold at a more affordable price than market value for the enjoyment of locals,” he said.

The shared poster in the Tweet states that fresh chicken can be purchased at RM12 a piece, a board of eggs at RM10, fresh beef at RM35 per kg, mackerel and selayang fish at RM8 per kg and cooking oil at 2 per packet.

On February 27, the state government decided that four daily necessities including chicken, eggs, beef and fish will be sold at affordable prices until Hari Raya Aidilfitri via the jualan Prihatin Rakyat programme.

The programme, regularly held every Saturday and Sunday throughout the state, is a follow-up to the compassionate food price intervention programme launched by Amirudin in early February.

Some 62 locations have already been identified for the purpose, including 24 under the Selangor Agro Market while the remainder is under the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation.
