SHAH ALAM, April 25 — The Selangor Agriculture Development Corporation (PKPS) has recorded a total sales of nearly RM3 million through the Intervensi Ehsan programme since it started in December last year.
Its group chief executive officer Dr Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said the total figure was registered from the sales of chicken, eggs, fish, fresh meat, and vegetables in 32 state constituencies.
“When the prices of vegetables soared, we brought fresh goods from Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) and PKPS farms to be sold at lower prices to the public.
“This programme continues until today at PKPS premises, mobile PKPS lorries and in selected areas. Every day we manage to get sales of about RM15,000 and it gets higher on weekends,” he said.
He said this to the media at the Jualan Prihatin Rakyat Mega Sale programme at the Pasar Tani Section 13 here which was also attended by state executive councillor for agriculture modernisation and agro-based industry Izham Hashim.
Mohamad Khairil said almost 50,000 Selangor residents have benefited from the programme so far.
Meanwhile, he urged the people to take advantage of the sales programme which will take place from today until May 2 at 29 locations in Selangor.
“I invite the people to come and buy their Hari Raya necessities at cheaper rates that are not available elsewhere.
“They will be at a loss if they do not grab this opportunity that is provided by the state government and PKPS,” he said.
