PKR ready to retain Pakatan Harapan hold on Selangor, says Amirudin

By Zareef Muzammil

SHAH ALAM, April 7 — Selangor is prepared to retain Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) control of the state since 2008 in the upcoming 15th general election (GE15).

Selangor PKR Leadership Council chairman Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said that the party’s victory in the state is essential to ensure that all the initiatives implemented could be continued to benefit the people.

“Among my final messages in the leadership council prior to the dissolution of the branch committee this year is to make Selangor more advanced as we have a more significant challenge to face after this, which is GE15.

“Selangor has a huge responsibility in contributing more seats and retain its victory, which would allow us to continue various good principles (that have been implemented),” he said when delivering his speech during the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) breaking fast programme held at his official residence here, yesterday.

Also present during the programme were PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, PKR secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, party vice president Tian Chua, and several other party leaders.

Meanwhile, Amirudin said the decision to run for the vice-president position during the party election would be made soon.

“I received several requests from grassroots leaders and friends to fill the vacancy.

“I still have a few more days left before making the decision. InsyaAllah (God willing), it will be finalised soon,” he said.
