By Selangor Journal Team

SHAH ALAM, May 1 — Water restoration in 463 areas that were hit by unscheduled water cut yesterday has been completed as of 3pm today, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

Its corporate communication head Elina Baseri said the water supply has been restored to the five affected regions namely 172 areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat (54 areas), Sepang (194 areas), Putrajaya (23 areas) and Kuala Langat (20 areas), which had experienced a water cut following the forced shutdown of the Sungai Semenyih water treatment plant (WTP), yesterday.

“Air Selangor would like to thank the consumers for their patience and cooperation throughout the duration of the unscheduled water supply disruption,” she said in a statement today.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, Elina said the emergency repair works following a pipe burst incident at Pudu Ulu Baru Pump House in Taman Pertama, Kuala Lumpur, have been resolved at 1.30pm today.

She said the water supply to the affected premises is expected to fully recover at 4pm tomorrow (May 2).

“The duration of the water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the distance of consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system.

“Alternative assistance through water tankers will continue to be mobilised to the affected
areas, with priority given to critical premises during the unscheduled water supply disruption,” the statement read.
