HULU LANGAT, May 21 — Some 130 jobseekers attended the fifth series of the JobCare roadshow for interviews, which took place at Dewan Demesne in Bandar Baru Bangi earlier today.
The Selangor Workers’ Empowerment Unit’s (UPPS) chief coordinator S. Vijayan said as of 1pm, half of the 270 jobseekers who registered with the roadshow were present for the interviews.
“10 notable companies participated in today’s programme, including 99 Speedmart, a recycling company, Old Town Kopitiam Sdn Bhd and Proton Shah Alam.
“Today also sees 200 various vacancies offered to jobseekers,” he told Selangorkini.
Vijayan added that since the roadshow began in February this year, nearly 150 jobseekers have managed to gain employment.
“During the roadshow in Klang 52 individuals were immediately accepted for employment, followed by Rawang (35) Putra Height (27) and Dengkil (11),” he said.
Overall JobCare offers 3,000 employment opportunities to Selangor citizens, with 15 local companies in various sectors participating.

JobCare roadshow’s subsequent dates and venues are as follows:
- Dewan Serbaguna Air Panas in Setapak, on May 22 and May 23.
- Dewan Taman Gombak in Gombak, on June 4.
- Dewan Dato’ Hormat Tanjong Karang in Tanjung Karang, on June 11 and June 12.
- Dewan Banting Baru in Kuala Langat, on June 18.
- Dewan Sri Bernam in Sabak Bernam, on June 25.
