PETALING JAYA, May 7 — Approximately 121,987 flood victims and their families who underwent the severe flooding in December last year have received the RM1,000 aid from Bantuan Selangor Bangkit (BSB)

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the distribution as of this Thursday (May 5) involved an expenditure of over RM122 million, including for the next-of-kin of flood victims who perished in the disaster, to lighten their burden.

“Even when tested by extraordinary circumstances and suffering, we managed to survive, endure the tribulation, persevered and worked hard, and designed welfare programs as well as effective assistance,” he said during the launch of Gagasan #kitasemuaKEADILAN earlier today.

On December 21 last year, the state government allocated RM100 million in funds under the BSB programme, following the heavy flooding that hit several districts on December 18.

Asides from infrastructural recovery, the allocation also included RM10,000 in aid for the next-of-kin of deceased flood victims.

Eligible recipients include flood victims who were relocated to registered temporary relief centres (PPS), private PPS, and those who chose to remain with their homes.
