SHAH ALAM, May 3 — After two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House for Selangor residents are expected to take place in every district.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the programme has yet to be finalised and will be discussed during the State Executive Council Meeting (MMKN)

“Many have asked if we (the state government) will hold open houses. I have to look again and discuss with the state executive councillors since at the start we did not plan it as such and instead continued with the Senandung Aidilfitri programme.

“However if there is a need we will organise an open house in each district, as that way we can meet more of society,” he said when met at the Aidilfitri open house with MMKN members, state representatives and agency department heads at the Menteri Besar’s official residence in Section 7 yesterday.

The small-scale gathering was held to continue the yearly tradition that takes place as soon as Aidilfitri prayers are concluded and before an audience with His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj at the palace.

Meanwhile, Amirudin announced a new health programme for Selangor’s residents that will be launched within two weeks’ time.

“Perhaps we will do it concurrently with the Raya programme on the district level,” he said.

On April 7 the Menteri Besar said the state government will travel throughout all of Selangor to introduce several health programmes to the people after Aidilfitri.

The programmes will encompass screening for intestinal cancer, breast cancer, cataracts and heart conditions.
