SHAH ALAM, May 31 — The free health screening programme Selangor Saring will be continued in the Hulu Bernam and Sekinchan state constituencies this weekend, from 9am to 5pm.

Selangor Public Health Advisory Council committee member Dr Mohammad Farhan Rusli said the programme will be held at Dewan Kelab Ko Cho in Hulu Bernam on Saturday, and subsequently at Dewan Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan Cina Yoke Kuan in Sekinchan on Sunday.

“We invite the local residents to take this opportunity and undergo free health screening in order to know their health status.

“Bring your family along and conduct health checks. Should we detect early signs of any disease, we will refer the patient to specialists for further treatment. Early prevention is better before things get worse,” he told SelangorKini.

The state government has allocated RM3.4 million for Selangor Saring, which is expected to benefit up to 39,000 people, particularly those with a family history of ailments, obese individuals, or those leading unhealthy lifestyles.

The programme, which began on May 22 and will run until September 4, offers physical screenings including for blood and urine, eyes, breasts and cervical tests, as well as colorectal and prostate tests.
