Selgate Healthcare, Magna Meditech form JV for biomedical equipment management services

KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 — Selgate Healthcare Sdn Bhd has entered into a joint-venture (JV) agreement with Magna Meditech Sdn Bhd for a long-term partnership to explore opportunities within the hospital support services ecosystem namely the biomedical equipment management services.

In a joint statement today, Selgate and Magna said the JV, Selcare Meditech Sdn Bhd, involved the setting up of a central business group for biomedical equipment planning, supply and maintenance services for all hospitals and healthcare facilities.

Selgate Healthcare executive director Noor Hisham Mohd Ghouth said the company envisions itself as one of the major players in Selangor’s healthcare industry, hence the mission is to build more healthcare facilities in Selangor, particularly in areas that are underserved in terms of access and affordability.

“We are attempting to fill a void in this market by providing affordable quality care.

“We believe that we could leverage Magna Meditech’s knowledge and expertise to provide global standard quality healthcare services and consultations.

Magna Meditech group managing director Divesh N Sheth said the company would assist in terms of consultancy and planning, supply and installation, asset management and the provision of hospital support services as well as developing a new healthcare value chain and its related services to cater to the Malaysian market.
