SHAH ALAM, July 4 — A total of 100 people participated in the free eye screening programme organised by the Kampung Tunku state constituency on Saturday (July 2)

Its state assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said the programme was held at SS2 from 8am to 1pm, and offered three types of screenings that were specially conducted by RX Optometry.

“The three types of tests are vision examination, dry eye assessment and cataract. A consultation counter was also opened for participants to address their concerns over their vision,” she said in a statement.

Lim said a time slot system was used for participants so they do not have to wait long and instead go elsewhere first before their turn for the check arrived.

She added this was to reduce congestion at the location, which received positive feedback from participants.

“We also opened a registration counter for Skim Mesra Usia Emas (SMUE) and Peduli Sihat, which is an initiative under the state government.

“Overall, the feedback has been positive and we encourage residents to follow the Kampung Tunku service centre’s social platforms to find out more about the community programmes and Selangor government,” Lim said.
