Educators acknowledge ease of Selangor’s school aid application process

PETALING JAYA, July 26 — School administrators in Selangor are grateful for the assistance provided by the state government for the maintenance, repair and upgrading of their institutions’ infrastructure.

Masjid Darul Ehsan’s Sekolah Rendah Integrasi development officer Ahmad Fauzi Asmuin said the application process for the aid was simple as it can be done online.

“I want to thank the state government for their assistance in helping our school, which is fully dependent on student fees to operate,” he said.

Ahmad Fauzi is one of the recipients of the School Aid (Bantuan Sekolah) programme presented by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari during the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow on July 24.

SJK(C) Damansara headmistress Lim Nyet Foong said the aid will go to repair the school’s damaged roofs and broken toilets.

“Our school building is over 20 years old. There are many damages including leaks and clogged toilets. We are happy to receive this assistance.

“Thank you for continuously approving our application almost every year, it means a lot (to the teachers and students),” she said.

The state government has channelled RM6.9 million to assist 221 schools in the Petaling district, as of May 31 this year.

Among the schools that received the assistance include SRI Integrasi Masjid Darul Ehsan, SAR Kafa Integrasi Setia Alam, SKPS Selangor, and SMK Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.

Other institutions include SJK(C) Chung Hwa Damansara, SJK(C) Damansara, SJK(T) Vivekananda Petaling Jaya, SJK(T) Sungai Renggam, SMK Assunta, and SMJK Katolik.
