HULU KELANG, July 30 — The people’s welfare has always been the focus of Selangor’s Pakatan Harapan (PH) government ever since the coalition took over the state’s administration in 2008, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said during the early years of PH’s administration in Selangor, seven programmes with the theme ‘Merakyatkan Ekonomi Negeri’ were introduced before the state increased it to 37 programmes through the Inisiatif Peduli Rakyat (IPR).

“Under PH’s rule, we have not reduced the number of welfare programmes, instead we have increased it to 44 programmes under the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP). We also ensure the programme covers all citizens of Selangor including newborns, the people’s health, kindergarten and university students so that no one is left behind.

“We want to become a state that cares for its people. That is our aim, to make Selangor a caring state, that’s why many people come here to find work,” he said during the Selangor Pakatan Harapan (PH) Roadshow at Dewan Serbaguna MPAJ (Ampang Jaya Municipal Council) in Jalan AU5, Lembah Keramat here last night.

Amirudin added that the coalition does not want to brag about PH’s capability in governing the state as it is constantly striving to improve its performance for the sake of the people.

“Take the issue of repairing the water pipes which we are working on for the benefit of the people as an example. We correct the mistake so that it could bring more benefit and for the wellbeing of the people,” he said.
