Selangor MB conveys condolences to family of former Harakah chief editor

SHAH ALAM, July 9 — Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari today expressed his condolences to the family of editor and writer Ahmad Lutfi Othman, who passed away early this morning.

The late Ahmad Lutfi was previously reported to be treated for various health complications at the UiTM Puncak Alam Hospital.

“I received the sad news of the passing of my friend, Ahmad Lufti Othman. He was a talented writer, who had written on the historical events and struggles during the early stages of the reform movement.

“My condolences to his family members,” Amirudin said in a tweet, today.

The former Harakah Daily editor-in-chief died today at the age of 59.

He had first joined Harakah in 1987 but left in 1992. He then rejoined the publication in 2006 and serves as the editor-in-chief until resigning in 2015 owing to health concerns.
